The following statement of faith is provided so that you may know where the Eternal Impact host and staff stands on core doctrinal issues. It is not comprehensive, but all guests are expected to align with these in order to appear.
We believe that the Bible is the inspired, authoritative Word of God. The sixty-six books of the Old and New Testament are without error in the original writings and are the complete and final revelation of God. All biblical characters, except where clearly indicated as a parable, were actual historical figures that lived as described.
We believe that there is only one God, eternally existent in three persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. These three are co-equal and are one God. He is the creator and ruler of the universe.
We believe that Jesus Christ is the Son of God and promised Messiah. He was conceived in the flesh by the Holy Spirit, being both fully God and fully man, and born of a virgin. He lived a perfect, sinless life and offered himself willingly as the perfect sacrifice for the sins of all men by dying on a cross. After his death, Jesus Christ rose bodily from the dead as a demonstration of his power over sin and death, then ascended into Heaven where He is seated at the right hand of God as our Advocate and High Priest. He will one day return to establish His Kingdom on earth.
We believe that the Holy Spirit is the third person of the Trinity who convicts the world of sin to repentance and brings faith to the believer. He lives in every believer from the moment of salvation and seals, sanctifies, guides, equips, teaches, and fills them, thus enabling them to walk in obedience to God and His Word.
We believe that all humans were made in God’s image, not the product of evolution, and made to worship God and glorify God. Because of the fall, all mankind is sinful in nature and practice, in complete need of salvation by grace alone.
We believe that mankind was created to exist forever. We will either exist eternally separated from God by sin, or in union with God through forgiveness and salvation. To be eternally separated from God is hell. To be eternally in union with him is eternal life. Heaven and hell are places of eternal existence.
We believe that Salvation is a gift from God to mankind. We can never make up for our sin by self-improvement or good works—only through repentance and faith in Jesus Christ can we be saved from sin’s penalty. Eternal life occurs at the moment of Salvation and is secure for eternity. Since we are unable to earn our Salvation, then we are also unable to lose our Salvation.
